How I got here...

I am a born-and-bred Minnesotan, and live next door to the house in which I grew up.

My wife Valerie and I have been married for over 31 years; I love her more now than ever.

Our three daughters, Rachel, Kelly and Megan are all married to wonderful men, and I'm blessed with six grandchildren.

Growing up, I cut lawns, shoveled driveways, delivered newspapers and helped with chores at home. This taught me the value of hard work, perseverance, and the satisfaction of a job well done.
I completed both my undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Minnesota.

In 1985, I began my dental practice. At the outset, I purchased disability Insurance policies, so in the unimaginable event that I became sick or hurt and could no longer practice dentistry, my family and I would be ok. I'm glad I did.

I followed a path of high integrity, and believe in doing the right thing.

This event affected me so strongly, it blossomed into my new career.

In 2004, I developed debilitating Carpel Tunnel Syndrome. I had to sell my dental practice and walk away from the education and purpose I had worked so hard to build. I filed my disability claims with my medical records and physician’s statement that I could no longer practice dentistry. Two of the three DI companies denied my claim.

From this experience, I became passionate about helping my fellow health care practitioners. Now, all my clients including every facet of business across the United States, are benefitting from what I learned. Together, we wade through 30-40 pages of disability policy.  I alert clients to the pitfalls of a poorly-written contract, and have found there are a lot of bad contracts out there to be aware of.  We discover the difference, so my clients can be well protected.

Right then, I found my new life's purpose.

When I sold my practice, “Uncle Sam” was there with his hand out. The government wanted 28% of the sales proceeds. My exact thoughts were: “What the heck did they ever do to help me build my business, maintain it, and WHY does the government think they should get a big piece of it?”

This event was pivotal in pursuing and discovering my new devotion - helping others learn about taxation and financial pitfalls. I stand up for people’s rights, work with their tax advisor and help educate them so they can keep more of what is legally theirs. I put a stake in the ground for them and say, “Not on my watch!”

Now is the perfect time to learn how you can be at ease knowing your assets and legacy are protected from the probability of tax rates in the future.

My goal is to a build strong, trusting relationships with the people I work with. By educating my clients with uncommon strategies to help them think differently about money, they are able to find more financial balance in their lives. I enjoy seeing my clients feel confident in their financial plan, while worrying less about their finances.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time on the lake at my cabin, hunting, and fishing. I also enjoy golfing and playing hockey whenever time allows, and spending time with my two nephews.

Real Stories

Disability Insurance = priceless protection.
I shared the difference it made in my own life. Learn about Feranmi Okanlami's journey in overcoming adversity, it is truly remarkable.

Feranmi Okanlami was in his 3rd year of Residency at Yale for Orthopedic Surgery. When the accident happened, he broke his neck and became paralyzed from the chest down. Disability insurance helped turn a tragic event into a positive outcome.
